Homes for sale within San Diego's Ocean Beach are as diverse as the people who live here. From multi-million dollar oceanfront homes for sale along Sunset Cliffs Boulevard to rustic beach cottages, literally anything can be found here. Entrepreneurs and hippies alike embrace the casual 50's and 60's attitude. Ocean Beach investment property owners enjoy one of the lowest vacancy rates in San Diego.
The Ocean Beach MainStreet Association strongly supports local businesses with ongoing events and activities such as the Wednesday Farmers Market, Annual Music and Art Festival, Octoberfest, Christmas Parade, and much more. Also, the community is one of the most popular places for dog owners with a huge oceanfront dog beach and nearby fenced grassy dog park, located at the entrance to this one-of-a-kind neighborhood.
Newport Avenue is a popular restaurant and bar scene which includes some of the most popular casual restaurants anywhere in San Diego. Hodad's arguably has the best burger in town and has been featured on Food TV's "Diner's, Drive-in's, and Dives". South Beach Bar and Grill, overlooking the Ocean Beach Pier, has their own twist on local's favorite food, the fish taco.
North of Point Loma and south across the Mission Bay jetty from Mission Beach, Ocean Beach is centrally located with easy freeway, San Diego Lindbergh Field, and downtown access. The Ocean Beach zip code is 92107.
The largest neighborhood in Ocean Beach is located around the area's commercial district. It is comprised of apartments for rent, rustic beach bungalows, and some pockets of condo conversions and remodeled homes. The main commercial district of Newport Avenue is easily reached on foot from this area, as is Dog Beach and the Ocean Beach Pier.
Point Loma Heights homes for sale include many smaller single family homes which have been upgraded over the years. Some condos and upgraded condo conversions are also available. Real estate here is a balance of quality, price, and proximity to the more commercial areas of town, which sits to the west of here.
Sunset Cliffs offers what is easily the most expensive real estate in Ocean Beach. The area is located at the southern most edge of the community and is filled with stunning single family homes, many boasting unobstructed Pacific Ocean sunset views. Though Sunset Cliffs is a luxury real estate location, it does offer value for homes of this quality and stature when compared to the more affluent oceanfront neighborhoods of Point Loma and La Jolla.
