UTC Real Estate Overview

Mid and low rise condos comprise the vast majority of UTC (short for University Towne Center) real estate.  This area is one of the strongest rental markets in all of San Diego due to the proximity to The University of California at San Diego, and the neighboring business center of Sorrento Valley. 

The UTC neighborhood is bounded by the 5 Freeway on the west, the 805 Freeway on the east, Nobel Drive on the south, and Sorrento Valley on the north.  Notable businesses include Scripps La Jolla Hospital, UC San Diego Thornton Hospital, La Jolla Country Day School, Costa Verde Center and Westgate UTC shopping malls.  UTC shares both the 92037 and 92122 zip codes. 

UTC Condos for Sale

As previously stated, condos comprise the majority of UTC real estate.  While very few large luxury condos exist, most of the properties on the market are of high quality construction and finishes.  One, two, and three bedroom homes are available in a variety of price points.  Renaissance La Jolla and The Venetian are particularly popular complexes both for ownership and rental prospects.

UTC Investment Property

UTC Schools

All schools in UTC are under the umbrella of The San Diego Unified School District.  Doyle Elementary School, Standley Middle School, and University City High School serve area students.  Also, La Jolla Country Day is available as a private school option for grades 3-12.

UTC Attractions 

UTC is home to some of the best shopping in San Diego with Costa Verde Center and Westfield UTC mall.  Just west of UTC sits La Jolla Village Square and AMC Theatres.  Popular dining options range from fast casual Rubio's Mexican Grill to upscale seafood Trulucks and nearby famous steakhouses Fleming's and Donovon's Steak and Chop House.  Whole Foods and Bristol Farms serve the high end grocery and deli market.
